I found out that a war is fighting. They should just sit down and talk like I do with my friends. My teacher and my Mother always said there is no need for fighting. But look at what's happening now.
And I also found out that Nat-sees are they opposites of Jews. A whole lot of absolute BOSH to me though. Now I have to find out what JEWS are too!
Father still isn't back.
He's been away for a week now. I asked Mother, but she just looked kinda sad. So I left.
Mum started putting mattresses and candles in the basement. She said something about "getting ready". I don't understand. It's all very frustrating.
I'm afraid if I ask too many questions Mother will get mad.
Hmmmmmmmmmm...

Today the war began. There were trucks carrying cheerful and merry soldiers, waving and laughing. I felt so excited, I was shivering. Mother said it was the cold. I don't think so.
I don't know what everyone was so excited about. When I asked Mother, all she said was, "The war is beginning". I don't what that means, but I wrote it at the top of the entry. It sounds good. Kind of dramatic.
There were flags everywhere. Red flags, with the same sign. Almost like a windmill. These signs where everywhere. The mayor had this sign on an armband.
There was constant talk about Natsees today. What are Natsees? And why can't I see them? Must be an adult thing.
Got to go help Mother with dinner. She needs all the help she can get, now that Father is gone. More later.

There was celebrating today.
I didn't know why.
My Mother said that we should be proud. She said my Father was very brave.
I don't think Father should go.
I think he should stay with Mother and I. But, he said he has to go for his country.
I don't know why! He IS in his country! So where is he going?
Mother went down to the shops. She said she might be a while, because there will be a big line.
I asked her why, and she said "Because of the war".
That's her excuse for everything.
Why is Father going? Because of the war!
Why is everyone in uniform? Because of the war?
What is a war anyway?
Is it even real?
I didn't know why.
